I have been the Executive Director of the Blue Mountain Project for nearly a month. During this time I have met with our staff, supporters, and volunteers. All have made me feel extremely welcome and have been very generous with their information and advice.

And all have made me feel that I made the correct choice in taking this position. BMP is doing great work.

I have much more to learn about BMP and will take the next step next week when I visit our programs in Jamaica for 1.5 weeks. Kent Shifferd, our board chair, Wendy Jason, our interim ED, and Haley Madson, our SLP Coordinator will also make this trip. During our time in Jamaica we plan to work with the Hagley Gap community to form an Advisory Committee. I will also have the chance to form a team with my staff and see our programs in action.
