Vanessa Hardy, Country Director Vanessa has worked with the BMP as a Medical Ambassador since 2014. As of March 2016, she was named Country Director. She currently is working to strengthen our in-country administrative policies and procedures, is the lead on networking with Jamaican Partners, and also acts as our lead liaison with the Ministry of Health. Vanessa also serves on the BMP Health Committee and is the head of our Health Programming. Vanessa has experience in both the retail and front end pharmacy benefit management sectors and she has worked as staff, trainer and management throughout her pharmacy career. Vanessa served as a volunteer in Africa working in various settings in rural Kenya and Tanzania before starting with the Blue Mountain Project.
Euton Rodney, Program Manager Euton Rodney started with the Blue Mountain Project in 2009 as an Ambassador and now works as our Program Manager. Euton is a coffee farmer from Penlyne Castle and has been involved in community work his entire adult life. He has been an integral part of Blue Mountain Project from the beginning. Along with working regularly to host our SLP Volunteers, Euton also works as our full-time driver, and helps to coordinate our Summer Education Outreach Programs. He also works closely with our Country Director (DC) on daily administrative duties including meeting with school, community and in-country partners, performs general up-keep on the clinics and computer labs, and works orientating and assisting our CD on supervising staff and long-term volunteers.
Carma Messam (Tia), LPN Tia is a Licensed Practical Nurse from Trelawny and has been with the BMP since 2011. Tia became interested in nursing when she took care of her elderly grandmother as a child and continues to be an incredible advocate for our senior citizens and she leads our home visit program for the homebound. Tia works part-time in both of our clinics (Penlyne and Hagley Gap). She also works extremely hard around the clock traveling around our communities on a weekly basis for our home health program.
Damien (Tessa) Anderson Damien or "Tessa" as he is affectionately called in Hagely Gap, currently works as a teacher at Minto Primary School and has been involved in BMP since the beginning. Tessa is currently our Field Service Program Volunteer Coordinator and also teaches the Patois Class for our SLP groups. In addition to this, Tessa heads up many of our outreach programs in the schools with our Summer Education Outreach Programs.
